Causes of poor posture or malfunctions of the musculoskeletal system are oftentimes due to weak foot muscles, a weak arch, temporomandibular joint dysfunction or visual defects, such as an unrecognized heterophoria. These systems are connected and, together with the organ of equilibrium, position the body’s posture in three dimensions. If a disturbance presents itself in a system, the brain is no longer able to position the body in a relaxed and stable manner.
With the help of special sensorimotor coordination tests, the specially trained sensorimotor expert can accurately diagnose disorders of the various sensorimotor subsystems.
